Dr.Derya Dursun
Dr. Derya Dursun is a Chief Innovation Officer leading CWT’s operations. She has over twenty years of experience as an environmental engineer working on wastewater processes all across the nation from Florida, to California. Her environmental expertise spans from innovative technology assessments to sustainable solutions for water reclamation facilites with focus on biosolids management and resource recovery. Dr. Dursun also taught multiple courses on wastewater treatment, including physicochemical principles of environmental engineering, solid waste management and Capstone Design. Currently, she is working on demonstrating advanced wastewater treatment processes that target emerging contaminants, provide energy efficiency and resource recovery.
Dr. Derya Dursun has over 50 publications, which include peer, reviewed papers, and presentations at scientific conferences, a thesis, and a PhD dissertation. She is also coauthor of Water Environment Federation’s (WEF) Manual of Practice – Conditioning Section and Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Process Design Manual for Sludge Treatment and Disposal – Sludge Transport and Conveyance Section. She has working relationship with many California utilities and currently managing several research projects for the Water Research Foundation.
